So Long CLK, Hello E-Class Cabrio & Coupe?
Mercedes’ U.S. chief Ernst Lieb recently confirmed the new E-Class Coupe would make its debut alongside the next-generation E-Class sedan in the middle of next year. The cars are expected to debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March and will be followed one year later by an E-Class Cabrio, which means the open top version won’t arrive in showrooms until 2010. |

Looks a lot like a 335Ci from that angle...

Test mule E-Coupe
Longer and roomier than the current CLK droptop, this E-Class will share engine choices with the rest of the range, meaning everything from four-cylinder diesels to stonking AMG-tuned V-8s. The new car will be big enough to offer four real-people sized seats, with the front chairs said to have been redesigned to offer more leg room to rear passengers. Then, there's the AMG E63 Estate. Quite the "grocery getter." |
