Anyone have any shim stock?
I'm shamelessly begging for a handout of a teentsy piece of .015 steel shim stock. All I need is a 1"x2" piece and everywhere I look it's selling by the pack for $15 or $20. I'm pretty sure this is the only time in my life I'll ever need it so it seems kind of a waste to buy the whole lot.
So, anyone want to help out a fellow American who's down on his luck... (I'll actually pay for the piece, I'm just kidding about the begging part...)

I have some 6" dia HVAC duct that is made from .012" steel. You might take your micrometer down to HD and measure some pieces. The larger sizes might be a little thicker.

I could give you a 6" x 3" piece of stainless .0015
Seems to me finding something .015 in your local hardware store would be pretty easy, unless you need stainless steel. The thickest SS shim stock I've ever purchased was .005. |
