Look what I saw...

I walked into town today and was greeted by ths line...

We also have a new greeting billboard at the entrance to town. Replaced the respect one that everyone hated, its simple and to the point!

Hopefully FDR I mean Obama will start some public works projects to keep everyone busy. I wouldn't mind building a damn or bridge.

Well, at least the unemployed tradesmen in your neck of the woods dress a helluva lot better than the laboring classes down here, with their gym shoes, nylon windbreakers and silly baseball caps.

Kill two birds.

Replace SUV's with sedans.

So what do you think the billboard would have read had McCain won?

Probably the same thing, the President doesn't have enough power to really affect this to much.

I worked for a road construction company. About 60 machines and 9 mechanics. Most of the time the mechanics just sat around, but there were some times that they were backed up.

Insurance isn't that bad, but upkeep gets expensive. Those big companies have full time mechanic's, and those guys get paid pretty well. Around here $40k-$60k++, not counting benifits, retirement, medical etc.

Equipment from what I have seen is a very good investment, its expensive but not a bad place at all to park money.

I want to buy a back hoe and excavator when I can afford to. Probably a JD or CAT.
