Stolen Hood Ornament

I'm a senior in college and some spineless piece of crap ripped off my Benz's hood ornament this morning. My car, '75 240d, means a whole lot to me. Two questions: How do I go about replacing it for not too much money? How do I enact revenge on this dickless wonder who pulled this stunt? (I go to a small liberal arts college in western Mass, only about 1000 kids enrolled)

I know it is annoying but don't do anything you are going to regret. It is only a $20 hood ornament. He was probably drunk just be thankfull he didn't key your car or smash a window.

"Exacting revenge." I always get bemused by members getting indignant over their hood stars, probably the cheapest part of exterior trim on any Mercedes.

When I had my second one stolen I bought two. Apparently having a spare breaks the curse, or at least saves you a trip. Get used to it and don't let it upset you.

It will piss me off, someone stealing my star, when it happens. It's more like stealing than downloading songs.

When mine does get stolen I'll replace it with a removable one from Adsitco.

When you do strike, e-mail me the perp's name and address . . . since the lawsuit against you will be a no-brainer. Just imagine the looks you'll get from the jury when they hear how you shot at a person to protect the $30 hood ornament on your Mercedes-Benz.

I've never had a star stolen, but I have heard tales of people going the local police station to report the theft and being presented with a box full of confiscated hood ornaments. "Is it one of these?" Wouldn't hurt to try.

Ah, another "booby trap" idea . . . what do you tell the parents of the pre-schooler that get's zapped when they touch the star? Something like . . here, take my car, my house, and all the money I'll be making for the next 20 years?

I tell the kid don't touch stuff that isn't yours. What a great lesson for the ankle biter.

Liberal lawyers have done more to advance the state of crime than anyone else in the history of the world. It used to be, You do something wrong - you get punished.

Now if you do something wrong and get punished sheisters like MTI think you are entitled to something.

I'm not telling you to take the case in Wyoming, I want you to move your "someone help me I forgot how to defend myself without the help of the ACLU" ass there. See what happens in a society that still functions.

Is that true, Never? I'm thinking an ass-kicking without permanent damage is a just and righteous response to vandals. If folks thought misbehavior brought thecertainty of an ass-kicking maybe there would be more respect for property. That's another jury I should be on!

I lived in Cody when I worked in oil exploration back in the 1970's. Mostly worked the Oregon Basin and overthrust areas. Beautiful, wonderful country. Nice folks, too. One winter I met a Basque shepherd, hired to work the lonely season with his dogs and horses. I gave him a Hershey and some gorp. He didn't even speak Spanish!

Cody is good country, I'm going to take my wife up through there this summer. The nice folks part is the truth. I've been a lot of places and people don't get any better than those in Wyoming.

Just don't steal (or otherwise mess with) their stuff. I had a friend in high school who thought it would be cool to break off someones car radio antenae until he got chased down, caught, and whipped with it a few times.

Needless to say his vandalism days were over. No lawyers, jails, courts, judges, fines, community service, or cost. Just swift and blinding justice. Worked like a g-damn charm.

Botnst, it's true. Is it that hard a concept to grasp . . . protecting mere property does not warrant physical force and injury? The problem with "ass-kicking" is that laws don't make the offended citizen the judge, jury and corrections officer. How much ass kicking is a $30 hood ornament supposed to get you? What happens if during the ass-kicking somebody gets seriously injured or the ass-kicker makes a mistake about whose ass to kick? Can I have my "no-neck, ex-NFL, juiced on 'roids" pal kick the persons ass as my proxy?

People around here are too stupid to take the star. A few times I've gotten to my car in a parking lot to find it twisted and misaligned. Bastards, the kind of people who try to take hood ornaments are the lowest, petty kind of human garbage. I think thats why airsoft guns were invented.

If I ever catch someone doing it, in agreement with the other guys on here, they're getting the hell beat out of them. As for pre-schoolers, nip it in the bud he will never touch another Mercedes as long as he lives. And in fact, I like that battery idea. I had similar intentions but didn't have quite the ambition, I thought it would need to include insulation so as not to energize the whole car. Or something. Besides isnt the defense of ones property clearly outlined as justified in the constitution. You mention Colorado?
