Carhartt's

Anyone else love their Carhartt's? I am thinking about picking up some new pants and other work gear on Friday before I go to work, I know there are going to be some good sales on them. Anyone have experience with Carhartt boots?

I like my Carharts. I was wearing them today when I saw an acquaintance wearing engineer overalls and it made me start thinking about fashion choices.
No experience with the boots.

I have a Carhartt 'chore coat' that I wouldn't trade for anything. A calf or two have been pulled in some ugly weather while wearing that coat.

Thats what I wear when I'm working in the winter. I have a heavy jacket that is just great to block the wind. Since we seem to do a lot of work near the water in the winter for some reason it's much appreciated.

The local Job Lot has nice heavy Carhartt jackets on clearance for $25.

$25 is a very good deal, you better buy a few for that price.

Try before you buy. Carhartts sizing can run very small on some of their products.

I live in the stuff. Nothing, I repeat NOTHING lasts as long. Carhartt clothing wears like iron. That said, LLBean makes very nice lined jeans that stand up almost as well as Carhartts and fit a bit better. Most everything else is crap and not worth buying. I've tried them all, and worn them all out. Regarding the boots, Dunham makes a very nice contractor grade boot. Any boot that can last a year with me is worth it, they ain't cheap. RT

I have a nice LL Bean jacket I got as a christmass gift from the marina I used to work at. The fit and finish is nicer than a Carhartt, but its built just as well. Not really a work jacket, its to nice for that.

Boots are ok. I would go Danner. Personal preferance. Found Wrangeler work pants to be better than the Carhartt's for me.
