I can see how the purists would not like having so much action in a Bond movie.

..I sure hope they keep wrecking Aston Martins, but a little less Ford promo would be nice: about the only annoying thing in both episodes.

Yeah, but the whole buildup to that scene was so well executed it gave me nightmares for a week! They released it here as the Vanishing and later remade it with some dumb American actors but the original is really well directed with great pace and character delineation.

I thought it was pretty good. I didn't like the camera shaking and the quick scene changes during the action parts. You couild hardly see or keep track of what was going on.

Other than that I give it an 8.

Craig does a good job. He's the best one since Connery. Craig's was the best version of "Casino" that has been made, IMO. I look forward to "Quantum."

I'm with you 100% on the plot and character development, which is what Quantom of Solace is missing. I liked the movie, but it has the thinnest plot of any Bond movie in memory.

Well, that is today's advertising. As people are watching less and less commercials (TiVo and DVR) we will be infultrated with more and more product placements. Both my GF and I said the exact same thing when the Ford SUV pulled up in one of the last scences. But unfortunately that is where we are at in today's world.

The Brosnan movies were just long commercials. I haven't seen QoS, but Casino Royale actually toned it down some.

It was OK.

I loved the Aston at the beginning of the movie. Sad that it got destroyed, but oh well.

It had some good action, but as Paul S. said, it had very little plot. It was more revenge than anything else.

IMHO, the ingredients for a good bond movie are gadgets, cool car, a guy named sean connery. Without those, just isnt right... :D

Goldfinger (1964)

1964 1/2 Mustang, driven by female sniper

1964 Ford Country Squire - picked up James Bond at airport

1964 Lincoln Continental sedan - driven by Odd Job

1964 Ford Thunderbird convertible - driven by FBI agents tracking Lincoln

1964 Ford Ranchero - took crushed remnants of 4,500 lb. Lincoln back to Goldfinger

1953 Ford station wagon - used by FBI agents in Fort Knox scene

1964 Lincoln Continental convertible - used to convey Bond to airport

Product placement is not a recent development.

They've been using Range Rovers quite a lot too.....are they still Ford?..or just using their engines?

Jag Daimlers...etc.

It's not a shamless as the Z3 which appeared to be a forced appearance in Goldeneye.

It was a '54. My father once bought one brand new, and I was there when he did.

The plot was terrible and very unmemorable. The action scenes were good, especially the melees.

My favorite part is when he flips the guy on the motorcycle.. that cracked me up.

I sure liked his Omega Planet Ocean :P

I thought the euro W126's in Tomorrow Never Dies did a nice job keeping up with that BMW. :D
