Mac Advice Needed...

I just noticed last night that the plastic case on my iBook is cracked, and looks like it might be spreading. What is the best thing to do about it? I was thinking about just putting some glue on it, but would this be a good excuse to buy a MacBook or iMac? I also think a MacBook will fit better into the $20 Timbuk2 bag I scored last night...

Call apple. They have goodwill service going on for older notebooks where the plastic housing is cracking or splitting.

So Apple will fix it for me? I was sort of using this as an excuse to buy a MacBook.

Not sure if they will fix it, but I would give it a try.

They fixed the casing on my black "SmashBook" for free.

If you really want a MacBook, go buy one. My local BestBuy had an open box White Previous Gen MacBook for $800.

That's a good deal, I think I will glue it, and wait and see. I am going to keep my eyes out for good deals on MacBooks. A MacBook Pro might be better because of the Aluminum case, but it might not fit into my new bag.

I dropped my MacBook Pro last week and messed up the case. Freggin aluminum bent out of shape, and it will not close properly. $#@$!

Epoxy and S glass will make it stronger than the aluminum version. Bulletproof if you use Kevlar.

Ah, you must mean that the special 'energy absorbing crumple corners'... Did they do their job? Did the computer survive to compute another day?

I've actually got some good glue that will do the trick, I can't remember what it is called.

Yes and no. The computer itself survived another day, however the CD drive stopped working.
