Why did Mercedes do away with the one wiper?

I was just noticing that all these newer Mercedes have 2 wipers instead of one like on the W210, W202, W124, ECT. I really like the one wiper. Its feels exotic and European as where 2 wipers makes you feel like an American:D. BRING BACK ONE WIPER!!!

thats one thing i really liked about my old 300ce.

Same here,very efficient and quiet.

I love it. It works better then the 2 wiper system in my opinion.

That up and down motion from the blade just seems like something else that will break. They probably just got rid of it because it might last longer. I now alot of you have a 20+ year old car and the wiper still works but still the possibility is there.

I like two wipers where they chase eachother like on an old Porsche or the W126.

I like the wipers on my W108 - the folding arms type.

x2.

The time and money they spent developing the wiper could have gone to develop a better, faster, more powerful engine.

I think they changed to one wiper because of the windshield shape of those cars. Now they have changed back due to the windshield shape of the new cars PLUS they can use off the shelf parts designed for Chryslers, VWs,Fords, etc...

Monoblade was great for tossing windshield washer fluid at the car next to you.

Try TurtleWax instead of Rain-X. Does better and lasts longer.

Love the one wiper also,,,,, and sometime when you are sitting at a light, with a light rain falling,,,, when the one wiper makes a sweep, it actually rocks the car. Pay attention, you will feel it.

Damn straight.
Ever since I replaced the engine mounts on my '98 E300 it's been so smooth that the "wiper"rocks the whole car at idle.
