Hand held locater
Anyone know if there is a hand held locater that could be used like a keychain car remote that could be used in conjunction with a chip that would beep when you push the button on the keychain remote?

I have seen something like that sold as a key locator. It was in one of those catalogs that keep coming in the mail. I don't recall which one.

We have something like that (bought from brookstone(?)- I had a gift card) that I got for my Wife's keys and the TV remote.
It only has a range of about 10ft in ideal conditions, so you might have to walk around a little bit. The "reciever" end requires a battery (CR2032 IIRC), which haven't died in 6mo of use, not sure how long they'll last though. You have to not lose the 'transmitter' part to find anything. This is okay for people that don't lose things. But if you didnt lose things, you wouldn't need this device anyway =) It pretty much works as advertised (except the range part), so I can't **not** recommend it. But I am not impressed with it either. -John
