The second came, and now it is history. Three hours history, and I just now got home from work.
NTP does have a protocol to indicate an upcoming leap-second, but unfortunately this is not supported on all platforms. Windows is the big one where there is no support. I won't go into the gory details. Just be glad if you don't really need to know the exact time.
