Snowball
Has anyone else read this authorized biography of Warren Buffett? I'm almost through with it now and have found it to be absolutely fascinating. I've read two other biographies of him, but this is the best I've read.
|
I need to. I am reading The Millionare Next Door that was suggested in the "mortgage rates" thread last week. I'll put this on my list.
|
That's a great book. The Millionare Next Door and The Millionaire Mind are both very good. They also run quite contrary to most people's opinions about money and wealth. Reading about Warrren Buffett would dovetail very nicely with what you're reading now.

I met Warren Buffet.

Got it for Xmas, been trying to get to it but been to busy.
So far yes very good. Another very interesting book is Gerstners, teaching Elihpants to Dance (??), his story rescuing IBM. An excelent read if you are into business things, |

I had dinner at a buffet one time . . .

He just helped the local electrical utility (BGE)with their cash flow. The deal was written such that even if BGE declined the Buffet take-over, he still gets several million$ and a bunch of BGE stock for what help he offered.
The man knows how to make money! |
As a further note, very good interview with Sir Richard Branson in the latest Playboy.
Not long but interesting, I didn't know he has several books out too, gonna have to look them up. |
It is encouraging that Warren Buffett has made the fortune he has by doing business honestly and fairly, and trying to find deals that benefit everybody involved. He never does anything without considering the profit he'll make from it. On the other hand, he does not try to cheat anybody. His focus is like a laser beam.
