Who has the best cell deals?

My Verizon plan is ending soon, and its costing me $50 a month, but for 900 minutes which is a waste. I think I used 300ish last month, a lot of those were nights and weekends to so they are free anyway.

I priced out a new 2 year plan at $44.99 a month, 450 minutes, 250 text messages, and some other stuff I won't use. It comes with a new free phone.

Most of the people I usualy talk to have Verizon, so the free in network calling keeps my usage down, which I like a lot.

But there coverage in a lot of areas sucks, anyone have good luck with T mobil or Sprint? Some of my friends have them and like Verizon they all have dead zones.

I think I'm going to threaten to switch to the Verizion people to see if I can get a better deal. I miss the $29.99 a month plans!

In Dallas, Texas a lot of people I know have T-Mobile for their cell/Internet phones. $39.95 a month, plus tax. Some of the plans are unlimited Internet minutes, with like 5,000 local minutes a month.

I have AT&T Nationwide Plan cause I travel the 48 states, with 450 daytime minutes a month, 5,000 night and weekend minutes a month. $39.95 a month plus about $9.00 a month tax.

ATT actualy costs more. $39.99 a month + $5 for texting like Verizon. Except with Verizon everything else is free. With ATT you have to pay a $36 activation fee.

I probably send about 50 texts a month @ .20 a pop thats $10. So its cheaper to pay the extra $5 a month.

Still phones are expensive, a two year plan with texting will cost me $1,079.76, $959.76 without.

I'll probably stick with Verizon, since I at least know where the dead zones are. If I go with another provider I'll have to find them all over again!

You might be much better off with a prepaid plan even if it does not come with a free handset.

I use it just enough where a pre pay doesn't work. They charge a .99 a day when you use it, but I use my phone every single day. So thats $30 a month right their, plus use.

I'm not a talker though, I may make 10 calls a day, but the longest one is 3 minutes. Most are shorter.

I don't talk at all. Because of the way I work, most calls are like this:

me: "Where is the vacuum?"
Uncle "I'm not sure"
me: "Opal street, or Kent, maybe?"
Uncle "Tony said its on Ocean, by"

.45 seconds.

Or an incoming call:

"Run up to the lumber company and get a roll of house wrape and ice and water."
"see you in a few"

.30 seconds.

Now my uncle...he must use 5k minutes a month...

We taught my mom to text, so no more short calls like that.... Well there are some, but for the small things, she just shoots me a text message...

My family had an unlimited cell phone plan, but we did not use enough minutes to justify the price.

We have 2100 anytime minutes, 4 phones, all types of messaging are unlimited, all the phones have data, and our bill is $200 a month. I think we have 15000 roll over minutes...

I have 2 phones now... My personal use Blackberry, and the work Blackberry. The work Blackberry as far as I know is just unlimited everything. Its got insurance too.... I have destroyed 5 in the last year.

I think I spend 2-3k minutes a month on that dealing with various problems.

They are ALL a rip. Those so called "Free phones" are just a gimmick, they get back the cost of them, and much, much more in those multi year contract prices they charge and try to keep you locked into, it is hard to get out of them if you see one better.

How many are for less than two years and easy toget out of ahead of time if you see a better deal you like?

I don't trust ANY of those phone companies, they are all playing 3 card monte with you, giving you something for nothing with one hand and stealing from you with the other. Corporate scumbags again, if you ask me.

My agenda is ppsted on Benzworld W126 section, "cascade road trip Youngtimer W116/W123/W124/W126 drive and visit to Classic Center, it was closed but they opened it up for us.

I will be back Wednesday or Thursday. I bought some Bilsteins (HD variety) and will put them in in Lancaster, a shop there ordered them. My 2.65 will ship soon, I paid for it before I left for this trip.

It's beautiful, about 80* in LA, this as you know brings out the women in miniskirts and sundresses, its awesome eye candy
