I see these temps being posted and I cannot even contemplate what that feels like. We have huge walk in freezers at work for food and such. The freezers are set at 15F. When I walk in, it takes my breath away for a few moments. I cannot even fathom what -55 feels like. My twig and berries get scared just reading it.

All I can say is try and stay safe and warm. I could say it suck too be you but I won't

Never thought I'd be glad to be in DFW.
It's the Wind Chill that's -55°F. - the real, no-wind-blowing temp. is/was -33.5°F.. The fact that we're out in it for WHATEVER REASON is the stupid part...either starting a vehicle, driving the vehicle or getting out of the vehicle and hoping you don't drop the keys in the snow so that you don't have to spend any more time outside than you really need to... (BT! DT!!!!) And, as an added bit of the old Boy Scout "Be Prepared" mantra/karma, I ALWAYS carry a small BIC-style lighter (I don't smoke) with me...it's gotten me into many a car/truck/padlocked gate when the key & lock cylinder don't want to play nice...threaten them with fire, they relent...and it worked yesterday!!! Thank you GOD it was the gate-lock and not the frigin' truck...

Temp in upper 50's tonight. Tomorrows temps in the upper 60's. Going to shoot targets with S-in-L & grandson. Dad & I are about average or so with both shotguns & rifles. Grandson can (and does) shoot a squirrel in the head with his old (ancient) Stevens .22 bolt action. His dad just bought him a used Remington 870 12 ga that he's anxious to shoot.

The boy is dying to kill Bambi. I think I'll take him next year, he'll be 14.
