Not that uncommon with small calibers at close range. All sorts of emergency room stories about people trying to off themselves with pawn shop .25s, only to have the bullet zip around the forehead under the skin outside of the skull and exit from the back of the skull.

I guess that would depend upon the angle at which the bullet strikes the cranium. Straight on would probably go throught the skull and rattle around inside. At a glancing angle it would probably ricochet off.

I got a banker's box of files in storage from a Canadian forensic pathologist (that also used to be a personal physician to Queen Elizabeth) 'splaining such things if you want me to ship it to you so you can turn this into an airplane thread

I quit receiving $50/mo. payments for that expert about three years into the defendant's LWOP stretch, so I don't care to review the documents

I don't need forensic evidence in order to spew opinions. I can churn BS all day long with almost no basis whatsoever. But thanks anyway . . . .

Now that was cold.

You don't have to read them anymore than we have to read the lawyer threads. And I'd bet there are a few more of those than airplane threads, too.

When I was small, my Dad had a glass-front gun cabinet (remember those?)
I remember vividly one occasion when he had a friend over to look at his guns. After they had been handlng them for a few minutes, the friend asked, " This is unloaded, right?". My Dad replied, "Of Course NOT!" His friend almost had a cow thinking he was handling a loaded gun.
My dad's point was simple;;All guns are loaded until you personally verify that it is not.
I am not even sure he knew I was paying attention, but I learned the lesson, too.
