Those are pretty minor recalls.....when the US automakers have one its usually:

"GM recalls 5 million trucks today, after finding the front of the truck might come loose and fall off at high speed"

I like the ones I've gotten for the Ford Explorers I've owned. It has to do with the car catching on fire for no apparent reason. Spontaneous combustion seems like a pretty serious issue.

Yeah my dad got one for his last F150...after the old alternator harness already caught on fire.

The kicker was he just changed the alternator but didn't wire in the new plug and harness that came with it, because the original looked fine.

Ah yes, my '86 Lincoln came with an alternator that was known for the same issue. When I replaced the alternator, I followed the instructions for re-soldering the connector. All was well, at least with that particular component.
