good car carrier company

Who do you guys reccomend? I've been looking at Dependable Auto Shipper and I got a quote of $545 from CT to FL. I'd say thats pretty good on an open carrier.

Does it cost extra to guarantee placement on the top level? I've heard some distressing stories about having a car delivered while under others.

I should ask. I've heard horror stories too. It would be best to do enclosed.. but If I'm going to spend money I might as well fly up and drive it down. My mom doesn't think I should do that. I'm on the fence about it since I've got class and stuff.

I wonder what it costs and how you go about hiring someone to drive the car to you. I've seen it done on TV, but don't know anyone who's had it done.

It would be a cool trip. Meet Hatty, drive a cool diesel to FL and meet you and possibly some other FL members, then spend some time at the various theme park/money pits near you and fly home.

I wish I wasn't tied down.

DAS damaged the SDL on the trip from CA. The most they pay is $150 unless you pay significantly more. In my case, they paid nothing.

Use 'em at your own risk.

Give Hattie $100. plus fuel (est. $100.) to drive it down for you and pay for his ticket back to CT. It'll still be less than the shipping cost..........he's just sitting on his ass anyway.

Try this company. This is what I had Norm shipped on, and it appears to be family run. I think Tyler and I would both agree that the driver I had, Dan, is a fan of MB's. He and I talked for a good 20 minutes after I picked up Norm, and he was very through about checking the car over.

I'd give him a call.
