I don't trust those numbers and they seem as mere speculation. Obama's stimulus hasn't even passed yet. Personally I don't want any of the taxpayer money going toward buying toxic assets or paying people's mortgages off. That's just going to create inflation and nothing of long-term economic value, not to mention it's an insult to people like me who have made great efforts to pay off their mortgages with their own money. I want the taxpayer investments going into useful, long-term things like infrastructure, education and alternative energy development.

Very true. There are plenty of people who were responsible and are not in debt or they already own their houses. Why should the people who made bad decisions get the free ride? Will true homeowners receive anything?
