TDY in Dayton, Oh

Looks like I am going to be TDY to Wright Patterson in a couple weeks for about two months or so. Can anybody tell me where the good places to stay and eat are? Also is B100 available anywhere near the base?

Thanks guys!

I can help you there... I just moved from there.

Joe' Pizza and Cassano's Pizza are must trys...the best pizza in Dayton. Call 937-294-KING for Cassano's. Joes only accepts card and cash...no checks allowed.

B100 isn't anywhere near there...you'd have to make it to Cincy to locate that.

Other places to eat...Franco's on 5th in Dayton, Mama Disalvo's on Stroop in Kettering.

There are plenty of good eats there to be had.

if you are looking for some nightlife...go to the Oregon District on 5th between Patterson and Wayne in Dayton. 3 blocks of brick roads, historic drinking establishments, restaraunts as well as Wiley's Comedy Club.

Speaking of comedy clubs, there is a Funny Bone in the Greene...a large open air shopping mall with the feeling of being in a small downtown.

When are you planning on going?

Thanks! I will definitely try the pizza.
I will be there next Monday if I go -- it is still not 100%

Anybody else have suggestions?

I miss them in Utah...

Bill's Donuts in Centerville.

Christophers in Kettering...get the bistro steak finish with the peach cobbler

Los Reyes in Kettering...VERY authentic
Los Piramedes in Huber Heights...Americanized, but good

If you want to spend the scratch...The Pine Club on Brown Street. Call ahead to make sure tables are open...perhaps 2-3 days in advance. Awesome steak...best in Dayton. Heads of state stop there to eat when in town. Expect to pay about $80 a plate.

If you have time for dinner and a show, check into La Comedia...it's a dinner theater.

Not a fan of those.

Steak and Shake is not a bad burger.

You guys are great. I really think we should put out a MBshop version of Zagat's Guide!

What about decent, but affordable on a Fed per diem, hotels?
