Rachel Maddow on food inspection - a short history

I'm not always wild about Maddow but she is generally competent and sometimes very good.

The "govt. IS the problem" sacred cow of Reaganism doesn't hold up in view of the lousy record on food safety under the most recent Republican administration:

Sorry about the annoying, 'what if delivery people ran the world' commercial up front. I just hit mute. I hate that one.

What? No one jumping up to rail against govt. interference into our lives??

I say stop hamstringing the private food industry with all this onerous regulation. Just take a weed whacker to regulation!! *

* To paraphrase Mitt Romney.

Hooligans,Scalawags,Etc.

It is so very difficult("It's not fair, there is not enough time to classify all the
Criminal Filth empowered over the last 8 years to harm us and our economy
in the name of their own Greedy Thievery") to triage which slimeballs should
enjoy having an active 440 volt line strapped to their bodies, just prior to being thrown
into an Olympic sized pool filled with Salt Water
(Better Conductivity,and they "Dance" longer).
Earlier this week the "Winners" would have been anybody involved in the
financial industry...Now, after viewing RM's excoriation of the FDA.I'm sorely
tempted to "Throw my vote" over to "Swimming Lessons" for Federal Bureaucrats.

EDIT: Yeah,I wonder if "The Morman Candidate"
('Kinda like "The Manchurian Candidate"?) can swim?

GOVERNMENT IS THE PROBLEM!

one track mind way of thinking is met with fingers in ears and singing, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, I can't hear you . . .

FRIENDS OF REAGAN, DUBBERS, FREE MARKET, DEREGULATION:

You are cordially invited to step up to the plate and splain to me why deregulation is the best way to go at all times. Hell, bring Mitt Romney with you if you want. Him and his weed-whacker.

Reagan is dead and has been for many years. Get over it. Blame Bush at least he's still alive.

The Defening Silence (Backgrounded by rattling paper noises)

Is Evidentiary of the Slimy Bastards beating "Their" Elected Officials and
Lobbyests about the ears by telephone.
"What do you mean allowing my Enron(Lehman Brothers,AIG,GM,Etc.) stock
to fall into worthless catagory...Why do we elect you THIEVES if not to
insulate all our ill gotten gains?"
"Why am I having to consider living as the rest of America lives,in Financial Terror."
"We will find a new group of Criminals to further our aims, like say
Jeb bush and Karl Rowe."

Yeah, can't you just see it...They've already floated that trial balloon.
Question is,is the American Electorate stupid enough?

Oh yeah, Reagan is ancient history. I'm not even blaming Reagan, I'm blaming the people who are determined to deify the guy. He was right on some things. Govt. can be a problem. But to believe that it IS the problem, period, is just too simple.

RRRrrs still reference the legacy, the message of Reagan. I'm not sure if "blame" is the word I want anyway. I merely suggest we look at this stuff a bit more objectively.

But the thread is not about Reagan, specifically. It's about food safety and deregulation. So your two cents worth on that topic is . . ?
