A death in the family

Yesterday, Leo, my little buddy had surgery for what we thought was a hernia. It turned out to be something more serious for which there was no cure. Leo died last night. I will miss that little cat a lot.

Damn, Dee. Sorry to hear that. It's amazing how those fuzzballs get to us.

"Paul?" Oh, Paul Butterfield. My name is Tom. My quote was from Paul Butterfield. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

I don't know if it's my age or what, but I have gotten more attached to my little furry friends in recent years than I ever did before.

I'm not a cat guy by any stretch, but with a couple of very loving schanuzers in my house, I can sure appreciate your attachment to Leo. I am sorry for your loss; it's never easy.

Sorry buddy. I am not looking forward to the day when my beloved chihuahua passes on. Hopefully in like another 10 years or more. She is about 8 now.

Tom- I'm sorry for your loss and know you'll miss Leo very much.

"My Breakfast Buddy:

Every morning when I awoke
a cold nose would give me a poke
to make sure breakfast was on.
Coffee brewing and Tender Vittles in the bowel
Leo would stare across the table right thru my soul.
Crossword puzzel was done and the vittles were gone, so too is my good friend Leo.

Now THAT'S a mental picture I could do without!

Sorry for your loss. I'm owned by 4 doxies and I know my big gruff-arsed exterior is going to take a powder when they pass.

Thanks for the poem, Mistress.

Tom,

I am very sorry for your loss. When my cat, who happened to be named Tom, went a few years ago, it was pretty hard to take. The only thing I can tell you is that while Leo cannot be replaced, you can get another cat buddy with his own personality and share the experience of getting to know each other all over again.
