In July, it comes with the OM611 instead of the OM616 turbo and the price is quite enticing,$18000 for a 4WD with MB components and design. Diff locks front and rear, PTO, sift on fly full sync divorced transfer case, tubular chassis, independent front suspension, 240mm ground clearance and 3700kg payload.

I have a 99 with the turbo OM616 and now will book the 611. I haven't purchased any new cars lately, have depended on my trusty Accord V6 and MB 300 so this will be a good buy indeed.

That's nice. I dont know much at all about off roading, but isn't any form of independent suspension not so good?

Just curious, what other cars are available for $18000 in India, to compare.

Very cool and capable trucks. That looked like a lot of fun.
Where were the pictures taken?
I wish Force would send them over here. I heard that they are making the new model Euro-II compliant and sending it to Germany so maybe there is hope for us in the USA...

I would love a G-Wagen for under 20K

Yes and no about IRS, the famous Toyota FJ went the IRS route, some of the most capable off road rally factory trucks use IFS, except during heavy rock trailing, IFS is overall far superior. Bear in mind, this IFS is the one used in the commercial MB 307d FWD van so it can take some serious hits. Also there is locker in front so even if one wheel spins, the other wheel doesn't stop.

For $18000 nearabouts you can get a Hyundai Accent, Verna, Ford Fiesta etc.

All it needs is a bunch of resourceful investors and this thing can be bought into US. I don't see any reason it wouldn't pass the requirements, current engines pass Euro-IV and the OM611 will also pass all the norms easily. Only issue is that its diesel.

Of course by the time it got here it'd be priced in the $30's.

There's a reason to move to India.

The 307d is front wheel drive? When did that happen?
