Netspeak is infiltrating our world
Yesterday I went looking at a phone for my wife. I asked about a phone, the guy picked it up and went "OMG." Yes, he actually said Oh-em-gee.

Thats dumb. You don't even save any syllables by saying that. Actually some acronyms are longer to say than the word(s) they replace, like VW.

The classic of course is that saying World Wide Web has less syllables than saying WWW.

This is not surprising at all. In fact, it appears as if a broad mentality is exactly located as described.
Just as the word "like", a filler syllable for all the words missing in the vocabulary of an average person, particularly young peeps and late teenagers. For all you folks not living in Southern Cali, you oughta come over here and take a looksie. That's how it goes all day long: "OMG, it's like ... OMG!"

WTF?! Actually, I sorta like using doub'a'u tee eff instead of saying it the old fashioned way. I mean, I don't do it often but a lot of people have an aversion to F bombs so using WTF is a way to minimize bad feedback.
