Electric RC cars, advice needed

Hello, I am looking into some RC trucks for fun in the yard and am beyond confused. I know Tamiya and Traxxus are good brands to look at but with the number of online stores I am not sure where to turn.

Here is what I am looking for.

1. Electric RC Trucks
2. $250 price range
3. Ready to run.

My GF and I bought a T-rex (I think) for her nephew to run in the yard. It's a nice truck but I have to say that it stinks in the grass. It's all wheel drive yet still spends much of the time spinning it's wheels.

Also, it wears out the batteries in about 5 minutes running wide open like this - gets very hot!

On the flipside, it does great on hard dirt or pavement. I'll do a little digging and find the model we got for specs and comparison sake.

OK EDIT:

I was wrong, it's 2WD - this model:

It would probably be much better if it was 4x4 on grass.

Grass is killer on any RC car, very high resistance.

I'm partial to Traxxas, elelent customer service, and alot of local hobby shops carry their stuff.

I went nitro. Started with a nitro rustler, went to a t-maxx, then back to my rustler. Spent lots of moneys... Like 2k in 3 years...

can it be a stadium truck? (lights, RWD, FAST!)

Team Associated/Team Losi both have RTR trucks around that price (might have to stretch a few $$$)

I have a Nitro rc10gt here, it was a fun truck (when I bought a car I couldnt afford a toy one anymore)

Best bet with batteries is to buy your own cells and solder them together - much cheaper and you can get high capacity cells for cheap online.
