Driving through Paris at 140 mph

No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit.

The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes, reaching nearly 140 MPH in some stretches. The footage reveals him running real red lights, nearly hitting real pedestrians, and driving the wrong way up real one-way streets.

Upon showing the film in public for the first time, Lelouch was arrested. He has never revealed the identity of the driver, and the film went underground.

The film was made available as a commercial video . . . I seem to recall that there was a mention that the car wasn't a Ferrari, but a Mercedes.

Note the Wiki's entry that in fact Rendezvous was filmed by a camera mounted on an MB 450 SEL 6.9, no less. The sound track was added later as well as the odd bits of Ferrari.

Interesting. Why dub a Ferrari sound over the sound of a 6.9?!?! I wanna hear the MB!

Not sure. I'm guessing that there isn't even an original soundtrack to that (From what i've read, he mounted the camera but no sound recording equipment)

Anyone ever try to count gears? I gave up halfway thru. Someone said they counted that the car has 16 gears...

Humm.. V12 revving up to 6.5K RPM versus lazy V8 revving to 5K.. wonder which one sounds better.

Not actually sure that is a V12 but it sounds fantastic.
