Bay Area GTG

so how many 190 owners live in the bay area California, or near enough to the bay area to want to get together with other 190 guys.

never planed one before, but willing to learn.

There are plenty of people who would attend. Talk to boardmonger. He planned the last GTG and it was great! Were I still living there, I would go.

I would go to a meet. I know of at least 6 other people from Sacramento that would go to the meet.

Hey this sounds like a reason to open the boxes of parts in the back of the SD and get off my lazy behind and install them.... that is if you don't mind having your 190 party crashed by a large smelly diesel! LOL

The diesel guys are always up for crashing a party. "if your build it they will come"

Some non-diesels will crash it too.

My company just did some work in the Half Moon Bay area. I had to do all the map work for the project. so I've stared at the maps a lot! I did not get to go on the trip, so I've been wanting to see the area in person.

Route 35, Skyline Blvd looked like a perfect drive for a Mercedes meet.

Looking into the maps now, with a drive in mind there are a few parking areas along that route that could support a Mercedes drive, depending on the local traffic.

The spot that stands out is here.
37°24'39.07"N 122°18'21.50"W

I'm not a local, so I'd like it if there was someone more familiar with the area who could chime in with the location of a picnic area.

The last time we did a bay area drive people got lost in the city, and ended up going home. I think if we do another bay area drive/GTG we should meet outside the city (like at the parking area I posted) take a drive (rural) and then eat, possibly BBQ (I'd be willing to organize this) at a rural picnic area. then head through the city to go home. they way we are not trying to get 30 cars through traffic as a block. we are not a funeral precession, so its very hard to deal with traffic.

I'm not attached to the Skyline Blvd area, just an idea, but a rural setting is a must if we plan on going on a drive. or a nice city park where we can BBQ and not try and leave and get lost.

My co-worker at Skylawn Cemetery where we did some work. check out that view! this is on a rainy day.

well to answer a lot of questions,

iwrock, im almost 17 now. and a good, date would be one in late May or early June. scouting sounds like a good idea, great way to burn some petrol and or diesel, but ya, im still in school, but if we find a weekend day when we are both free. then i would definetly be interested. where are you located??

sirnik84, please bring your car, any car can come crash it for all i care. diesel or gas

TVAllison, my primary car is the 190, but if my dad is free, then the CDI will also come.
