I'll be a 140 door expert,,,

We are redoing a 97 140 S320 and got 2 used front doors to replace the rusted old ones. I have been disassembling the "new" doors, getting them ready for paint and will be removing the old ones from the car. Anyone who needs to know anything about anything on a 140 door,, ask me now before I forget.

How many spot welds per door, and if there are any impact bars, how thick are they?

Sounds like a good time

Right door has 7,283 spot welds,,, left has 7,282,,,, don't know why the difference, I counted them each 10 times. 6 impact bars per door,,, each .0125" thick.

disassembly hints?

If you have time or a camera....

How do you get the wood off without breaking it?

Location of all the screws to get the door panel off?

Are the window regulators easy to get at ( similar to 126's)?

I'll have to look at a door panel as the wood just comes with the panel,
Screws are,,, in the arm rest, around the striker, behind the SRS label, and behind [2] the seat control switches. Those are the least intuitive as you need to turn 2 small brackets with a thin object from the rear of that wood panel. They turn UP. The panel itself snaps in,,, it doesn't hook in like a 126 or 124.

Window regs aren't too bad but they do rivet in if I remember,,,, I am at home and the car is in the shop. Door glass is very easy to R & I,,, 3 torx screws at the bottom and it comes right out.
