I actually just read the add a couple hours ago. I liked how he said it starts every day no matter the temperature but then later he states that he never drove it in the snow. Well how can it start every day if you don't drive it in the winter?

I smell bs all over this one.

That dude is going to have to seriously lay off the drugs if he expects to make decent grades.

Those figures are only for the days he just starts it up...your mileage may vary...

not good to run synthetic after you've run regular oil in it....

I’m listing my 190D 2.5 TurboDiesel, I really don’t want to sell it, but I am going to college in the fall and I need money for books as I am just now figuring out how expensive they are.

A little late to be figuring out that books are expensive, don't you think? Somehow, I think he won't bother with the decent grades and will spend the money on booze, dope and girls.

The suspension, engine, transmission, turbocharger, brakes, etc. are all in like new or new condition. If I didn’t tell you the mileage on this car, you would guess its 200,000 less.

200K is "like new"? Really?

all rust has been inhibited, primed, base coated 3 times, and cleared since photos.

OK. Lets see what else you have to say.

*the drivers side rocker panels have rust around the jack points front and aft.
*there is a spot of rust by the passenger side tail light
*there is a spot of rust behind the passenger rear wheel well
*little bit of rust on the top of the drivers sear wheel well
*passenger door has a small rust patch on it

Contradicted the above statement of "all rust...."

Anyways, this I found amusing as well:

"I replaced the battery last winter with a Professional grade battery which I had to buy through a 3rd party just to get, it has over 1000CCA, a reserve capacity that is double what a standard Group 42 battery has, this battery can take 2 glow cycles with all accessories on in -40* weather several times"

He's using GM "professional grade" lingo in his wording, and says it can do 2 glow cycles, several times....plus apparently he turns on everything possible during those start attempts.

Maybe he has mixed together too many prescription drugs

thats a myth. when an engine is freshly rebuilt you have to run regular oil for the break in period. then you can switch to synthetic. the thinking behind not switching is on older engines, some people say it causes them to leak. i never noticed a difference

I thought the MBs came with synthetic from the factory? In fact, IIRC, Vettes, Camaros and Firebirds came with Mobil1.

The newer ones likely did, but I doubt the 616/617 and 60x's did.....I have actually noticed less leaks on synthetic with mine.

I noticed that there was no difference in my 103 engine.

im sure they do now. times change and they decide we can do things differently. i have a friend that has been wrenching since long before i was born. having built several engines himself he doesn't believe in a break in period. he runs them wide open from the moment hes got it running. my point is, we all learned that you should break an engine in. but that doesn't mean it has to be done that way.

The best part to me is the guy claims to have 'never driven it in snow'. Well in MN, in order to do that, your car has to be parked from November to March. I don't think he needs several two glow cycles at -40* in June.
