As an Apple fan, I will freely admit that it is a very funny parody. HOWEVER...
I'll share with you another reason why Apple's got my loyalty.
My Macbook is over 3 years old. I've had zero problems with it until recently when the charging of the battery became erratic. Because of the particular symptoms, I thought there might be a bigger problem than a worn out battery so I went to the Apple store. I made an appointment online in advance so when I got there I didn't have to wait even though the store was packed. (Packed on a Friday mid-morning!) The technician and I looked at the computer together. He asked if I had the extended warranty, and I said no. He saw the problem I was having, and tried another used battery that was partially charged. It worked fine. I told him I thought perhaps the problem showed up more when the battery was more fully charged. So he took a charged battery off a floor model, and that worked fine. Then we noticed that the cord on my charger was beginning to separate at the strain relief. He went to the shelf, got a brand new battery and a brand new charger and put them in a bag for me. He said "don't worry about it. I can get these covered. Have a good day." He gave me $200 (retail) worth of normal wear-and-tear items for free when my computer's been out of warranty for over 2 years. You can say that I paid a premium for the computer, so I'm still behind where I'd be with a Dell... but with a Dell I'd be on the phone with India all day trying to figure out what my problem is before then paying for a new battery and charger. The time I've saved by not having to deal with Windows problems and Indian customer "service" is worth far more than the premium I may have paid for the computer.
The Apple store was packed... being that it was a Friday morning, it was mostly retirees. They were doing one-on-one training. It was so cool to see the old folks sitting next to the young Apple store employees learning how to edit movies and make DVDs, learning how to set up their own websites, learning about social networking, etc. You can make fun of the hardware for being shiny and stylish, but the design and software make you want to use it, make it a pleasure to use, make it something to be proud of. Just like a nice shiny Benz instead of a beat up old Nissan.
