This Is What Happens When Germans Design Bicycle Racks

I wont say how long it took to put together and load, but I beat my last time and next to last time by 90 minutes and half a day, respectively. OE NLA Oris. Talk about overkill.

How long does it take for the rack to get to 60?

Those are discontinued aren't they? Now they have Thule or something making their racks for them?

Yes, it's the discontinued dealer part made by Oris. Got it about seven years ago actually from a forum member. He had gotten it new with his 1987 wagon. It's one of my more chi chi Mercedes parts... it may be worth more than the car.

Getting to 60 is not a problem (and handling is good) as the rack and bikes are not heavy at all. The whole thing is very, very solid, but the aerodynamics and loss of fuel efficiency of over 60 is where the issue is.

Take care not to damage or destroy any low overpasses.

The height of the wagon + bikes is probably still lower than a lot of the ridiculous pickups and SUV's out there.

One may wonder where is that car going that's attached to the bike rack ...

However, I prefer overkill in terms of solid design over those shake attachments, loaded with 4 and more bikes, dangleing from the rear of an SUV like a cowtail, while pacing down the freeway with 75+ mph.

I usually make sure I don't travel anywhere behind them ...
