Question Ever miss cars you sold back when?

Was looking at some pictures of my 300E and I miss it Don't get me wrong I LOVE my 220D but I just miss the 300E because it was my first car I drove when I got my license and it had so many memories.

It sucks too, last time I ever got to drive it I was all groggy from waking up so early to take it to where we displayed it when selling it. It sold that day and my dad drove it to the guys house and he came to ours in his work car for info. The same day we took the money and bought the 240D which I was all excited about.

I'm sad about the 240D too. Now that car had memories, the random trips my buddy and I took to Arizona and all the fun stuff we did in it. If I won lotto I would buy those cars back from the people we sold them to.

I occasionally see the 300E around town and I saw it parked at night at a gas station :/ and the hood star was all crooked, so I fixed it and made it straight Makes me want another w124 -_- Diesel of course

Do you all have times where you miss them?

I miss every one of my former cars. Well all of them except the Fords (Escort, Tempo and Taurus) I miss some more than others like the 1957 Chevy Nomad and the 1967 GTO convertible...

If I could I would never sell a car. My fantasy is a huge heated barn for all my babies

Generally no, but I currently have two that I own for the second time, having had the chance to buy them back and did!

I have had several opportunities to buy cars back through the years and seldom am tempted.

I've never had any that I sold and they now are worth a fortune if I had just kept them and sold now.

Having owned over a hundred cars over the years it would take a fortune to store them all!

I miss my van. still think about it. so many trips to college station and the beach in that bad boy. i used to put about 30k a year on that car. it was so comfortable, but it really just had a lot of sentimental value

I hate myself for selling my 77 280E. Thanks for reminding me, you just ruined my day. Of the non-Mercedes cars, my 67 Austin Healy 3000 has resulting in me personally kicking my own ass into a bloody pulp on a number of occasions. Pardon me, I have to go beat my forehead on my wall.

If motorcycles count, then yes. I sold my 1946 Triumph years ago when I bought my first house...I had to sell it to help get the down payment. I worked 3 years on that bike, restoring it to it's former glory. When I bought it, it was a frame, engine parts in laundry baskets, and wheels.

The guy who bought it off of me, my best buddy, still rubs it under my nose!!

I miss the 94 Chrysler Conquest I used to own. Bought it as a driver while on an out-of-town contract and fixed it up to nearly-new condition before giving it away to a nephew who trashed it.

I also miss the 92 Jag XJS V-12 convertible that belonged to my wife. Car was drop-dead gorgeous and drove like a dream! Unfortunately, it was plagued with the legendary Jaguar unreliablilty issues, and I grew tired of the car living in the repair facilities more often than our garage...

I am sad I let go of the 92 400E. I traded it in for the 99 E300 turbodiesel at the MB dealer. One of the biggest mistakes I have made. Now I am happy that I got rid of the E300 at a big loss of coarse, but I am glad it is gone.

One or two possibly, but for the most part I like the anticipation of the next big thing. Haven't quite caught up with Walgamuth, but I've probably owned around 60 vehicles. The ones I miss are the ones that were taken by accidents. I've never wrecked any of my cars, but I've had them totaled in parking lots, blown up by irresponsible friends, and burned in a wildfire. I miss the '51 Willy's M38 the most....(taken by the fire, with my built Chevy Blazer) Loved that vehicle, and will get another some day, possibly even this summer (I have spotted one out in the back 40 of a farm in CO, been there for 5 years that I know of, I think it's finally ripe..)

I miss every car that I see go, my sister wants to sell her 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee that we've had since 2001 and if she does, i'll be so sad to see it go.

I get very sentimental with cars. If they're with us long enough they almost feel like part of the family. Like that one million mile gasser in the mercedes commercial, they've had it since brand new, all three of their kids earned how to drive in it. I mean something like that, you just can't get rid of.

I'd love to buy my 300E back and pop a 87 300D motor in her. That would be so awesome.

Financially? Never. Selling every one of them made perfect sense at the times of the sales.

Do I miss any of them? Not really. Not even the new Corvette I bought in 1977.

Yeah, financially, it was perfect sense, I needed to sell the 300E to get the 240D so I was literally like "someone buy this thing!" lol but looking back I miss her.
