It's a Shame, Ethics Laws
Here in Illinois our state polititicians are busy finishing up their session before their summer break.
Big tax increase proposal, and ETHICS laws. They have waited and waited, hemmed and hawed and hope to get something out at the last minute. What little has been released, is sketchy and definitely sounds like it will be watered down to almost worthless. Once it was considered an honor to serve the people, today we need to pass laws to keep them from robbing us blind. FYI we have one ex-Gov IN jail, one probably heading there. I believe 4 of the last 6 govs have served federal time, although one not related to his governor position. And of course we have Ronald Burris too. And they nailed another Chicago city councilman today on corruption charges. If I heard right for the past 35 years, they have indicted one a year. And we may elect them, but they choose who we get to elect, so don't say vote them out. Look at the number of elected officials who got their appointment from a parent, relative etc. And don't even get me started on the adventures of the Kingdom of Cook County, with king Tod Stroger. It really is a SHAME. Sorry I just need to vent.

The Tribune has learned a relative of Antoin "Tony" Rezko who was to be denied admission to the University of Illinois got in after the university's president interceded on behalf of then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Details to come in the Chicago Breaking News Center: http://link.chicagotribune.com/r/S462P8/JFW8S/R3W32O/XKY9/6VQVPQ/1G/t
