Yes, this forum is just not the same without Bot.

OldPokey 05-29-2009 11:39 AM

Bot's been gone a lot longer than Forced after his "goodbye" post.

That's not all he's feellin...

One liners to get you by until he returns....if he returns.

1. I'm gonna treat you like a newspaper and turn the page.
2. I'm going to slap you back to last Wednesday.
3. It's a good day when you wake up on this side of the grass.
4. If someone told you to haul a** you'd have to make two trips.
5. If I tell you have a nice body will you hold it against me?
6. I like the hereafter because I know what I'm here after.

It's like being stuck in a bomb shelter without a can opener.

That thread, IMHO, enabled some folks to get some stuff off their chests. Everyone seems to be playing much nicer than before. Probably a good thing to allow a thread to run rampant like that every now and again.

You should read some of the 'other' sites off-topic threads - Can't believe an educated person like Bot can stand it. Low brow humor, personal attacks, cursing for the sake of cursing, all in all a pretty foul experience.

As for being back, he comes back to read. Bet $ on that.

Forced is banned again. Might be gone at least as long as Bot;)

Am I like the only one who doesn't miss him? I didn't really have anything major against him, but I did find him rather arrogant and rude at times, and not as all-knowing as he thinks he is. There have been fewer heated political threads since he left. I think that's a good thing.

JimmyL 05-29-2009 02:03 PM

When somebody so publicly states that they are going to take their toys and go home I just hate to see folks offering up their toys if he will just stay or come back.
I much prefer the "Don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya" approach.
Oh, and allot of those one liners can be seen on He-Haw reruns......

**disclaimer**
I'm not much of an OD poster, so who really cares what I think!! ;) I couldn't disagree with that....:o:o

are you referring to bot or to forced, the thread changed up a bit for a second.

in my opinion, they are both great and both have their place. though i tend to believe that people choose what they want to be offended about and just don't want the responsibility of dealing with their own actions/reactions.

it's always just words.....funny, cynical, cantankerous, pointed, or heated, and bot and forced have been informative and funny, no matter what kind of fluff they pack that with.

Makes no difference to me one way or the other. The folks I really care about staying are the ones who can help me with issues on my old diesel Mercedes. :D

Long Live Diesel Discussion!!!!

Besides, Bot isn't gone, he just doesn't post here anymore.
Anyone who wishes, can easily go read a Bot v. JR thread elsewhere.

I was talking about Bot. Forced was at times a thorn in the butt with his clueless statements about climate change, but he seems knowledgeable when it comes to diesel discussion. Not sure why he got banned again. As to Bot I only saw him post in OD. I don't think he ever contributed anything to tech or diesel discussion. Lately I post more in OD but I believe I still have more posts in diesel discussion than here.

LUVMB - try sending him a pm with your question and your email, might just work.;)

The whole thing was ill conceived. Bot's comment was pointless flinging of dung, the complaint about feeling threatened from the intendee of said dung was pointless (what we have here is the safest distance between debaters yet known to man), and I'm not sure an infraction was needed either, but like BC said, it's a challenge to keep things civil w/o being to heavy handed, so I see that part as neutral.

Guy definitely adds color here, or added anyway. For my part, no one has responded with "Vietnam." to one of my posts in a while. :bigcry:
