Please help with decision
I found this on Craigslist today--I am not very familiar with the different Mercedes models , so I was hoping you guys could help on this. I am going to look at it tonight. It seems like a fair price, and the guy says it has been maintained by his friend who works at a Mercedes shop. I am skeptical by nature and do not know what to look for. let me know what you think. Thanks

Service records would be nice, a properly maintained Mercedes can do high mileage; a pre-purchase inspection by a Mercedes familiar shop would be great. Being alerted to issues like low compression, fault codes, rotting suspension joints are factors to consider with the price. Fairly high mileage for a car driven by "an old lady" but who knows. On the other hand, if you're only looking for the car to last a few years, the price could be right.

Do yourself a favor and take it to an independent Merc man and have a pre- purchase inspection done....pretty paint, leather and a 6 changer CD can hide a lot of problems....

Too expensive for the mileage unless this guy has some kind of documentation that all the biggies have been done. The evaporator, head gasket, wiring harness, and transmission are all big ticket common failure points to this car.
There are plenty of beautiful 94-95 W124s out there, and are excellent, excellent vehicles for a practical daily driver. Don't feel like you have to buy this one.
