Co-Worker ran out of gas....again

My Co-Worker ran his CLK350 out of gas again today. Normally this would be a simple insignificant opps....however, this was the 9th time that he's done it in the past year or so.

How many times do you have to touch the electrical bar before you learn not to touch it again?

Maybe he's testing the fuel light like I was to see how far he could go. (I learned that mine was not functioning. )

Or it's a b.s. story for being late and needs to come up with some more to put into the rotation?

Nope, isn't a b.s excuse, i'm the one who picks him up and brings him to the gas station every time and its definatly out of gas every time. The best one ever was when he put the 3/4 gallons into the thing, drove to the office, did some errands, went home.....and ran out again on the way to the gas station the next morning...at which point my cell phone rang yet again....

I used to work with a guy that ran out of gas about 2 times a week, and it was always a block or two away from the gas station, but he was still always an hour or two late for work, or sometime never showed up. That guy only lasted about 2 or 3 months before he got canned.

I'm confused. What happened to his CLK? I thought you call 1-800-FOR-MERC and they come with 3 gallons of free gas?

To some it is a game to see how low you can go and still function. Also the wife is terrified of running out of gas but she teases me about dead people so I run the gas as low as I can and scare the hell out of her. Payback is a *****.

Geezem crow, I guess some people never learn. And you're far too nice!

CLK350 aside, sounds like he's going paycheck to paycheck.

Either that or it's like a Seinfeld episode.

Forgetful or absent minded would be the best words to use. I've said to him that I can have a better conversation with the wall because the wall doesn't randomly walk away midway through the conversation....Literally i'll be talking to him and he'll just walk away....i'm not that boring am I

These people know nothing of Mercedes and what they offer. Took me a fricken hour to describe European delivery....Besides even if he knew I think roadside assistance would eventually get fed up with bringing him free gas every month.

He's a good kid and is actually a manager. (The only person who's been here longer then me) He just happens to have the attention span of a fly...

Well he got a bit screwed over too so he's overpaying for the thing.

Great episode

How honest do you want us to be?

Just let them get fed up of him and then tell him that he either has to part with gas, ass or grass.

Just yanking your chain but I don't think you are that boring. Maybe he has ADHD or ADD or one of those funky things the mindfawks are talking about.

Never saw the bumper sticker or what?

I have run out of gas about ten times in my short tenure of driving. All of these in the Ford van. The gauge quit working, and I earned minimal monies at that time. It took me a whille to get a reliable mileage system working and simce then I never did it again. I'll never forget the first time. I was so broke I could not put gas in the car, but was on the way to my work to pick up my paycheck so I could fill it up. I could see work from where I was but the car sputtered and died at a red light. I was first in line to turn left and there were a whole bunch of angry people behind me. I called someone to come get me and when I came back, traffic was fubared and there was a cop directing traffic due to an 18 wheeler tryin to maneuver and no one would let him. It was pretty bad. Thing is, that is the only time I ever ran out with a working gauge.
