bmw fastrack program

Does anyone here know anyone who went to it, if so how was it and would they recommend it?

What did they say when you asked in the BMW forums?

Yeah, that question is kind of like some one constantly reminding everyone on a Mercedes forum about an '80s Ferrari:rolleyes:

Oracle--do a search, I remember a guy here mentioning going through that program but it was several years ago. There's also bmwforums.com, and another that you can get via pm from the Swede, but they are mostly chops/ricer types nothing like here.

A person in my graduating class got in after working at the BMW dealer for a few years. He started as a lot guy, then service adviser assistant, making his ambitions well known to his superiors. He was always asking the tech's questions and lending a hand when he could.

Last time I went there with my X5 (sold nearly a year ago) he was wearing a tech uniform.

Didn't know it bothered you. I'll talk more about the Maserati and Jaguar instead. Only not "constantly" this time. Does every other day agree with you? If not, please inform me of a schedule that meets your needs. Thanks for your input, it's much appreciated and taken to heart.

Hypocrisy bothers me--not the actual cheese itself. Nice to see you actually got the point and straightened it out in #7.

I don't recall ever asking for help on this forum on anything but my Mercedes. I've also "mentioned" my BMW. I fail to see the "hypocrisy".

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/index.php is a good place to look. iirc, the schools are very expensive and many grads end up at Jiffy Lube. There are posts around here to this effect.

Oracle12345 06-17-2009 10:05 PM

gamble

A lot of these schools are expensive gambles in the end doesnt matter what manufacturer it is. I had gotten in the MB elite program but it got canceled before the start since mercedes canceled the funding. Now the elite program tution isnt payed for by the dealer and anyone entering it has to pay for it.

I am trying to ether get factory training or some ASE so Im not working at places firestone etc which pay $8.50 an hour. I already have went to a tech school so im looking to advanced my training. I am not getting to much luck in terms of getting jobs at various places and Im thinking im lacking the professional experience that places are looking for. I can do a lot things on a car but lacking professional experience no one is really believing me:(. As for the bmw forums, i have posted on them and no one has replied....

I have talked to dealership techs about getting started in the automotive field and many have told me get factory training and ASES, having both is really good asset is good since you can ask for higher rate of pay.
