Electric bicycle

Anybody here have any experience with electric bikes? I am seriously considering obtaining one. It would be great for doing errands/cruising around town and I have a nice long bike trail nearby.

This one has my interest.

I know nothing about it, but was very annoyed by that product last week. Why? Searching for "trailz" brought that up, when I was looking for something more like this:

Isn't the point of a bike trail to pedal the bike on it, and.... to get...exercise?

I'd be wary of spending hundreds of dollars and then having something not quite powerful enough so you still had to pedal, and then have to deal with all the added hardware, weight, and maintenance, etc. Do you have a place where you can test ride?
