It didn't have to take place.

I don't think that is correct. They saw the actual original certificate. This is from their website:

FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate..."

Officials with the Hawaii vital records department also said that they saw the original.

How so? Back in 00, the left didn't want to accept that Bush was the legit Prez and now in 08, the right doesn't want to accept that the BC was legit. Oh, that's right, silly me. I forgot who I was talking to and that he doesn't want to see that both sides, which includes his side, has the same silly element.

why all of this then? Why didn't he just come out like McCain did and show the stuff in public without hesitation? That's not ridiculous- that's fishy and slimy. As an attorney you obviously have a much lower view of what is fishy and slimy.

Simple answer, he is the President of the United States, duly elected by citizens of the US and sworn to uphold the Constitution. There's likely a list of very important things to accomplish, and attempting to satisfy the misguided beliefs of those whose real interest is not the truth, but the belief that there is some vast lie at work, probably isn't very high on the list.

Why do you keep insisting that he hasn't already done that?

Oh I forgot this only started after his election. Did your memory go out for lunch?

More correctly, it only started recently. Apparently Republicans have nothing left in argument to Obama's agenda.

Where are his records from Occidental College? Why did his lawyers have to bend over backwards to block people from seeing them? He was on a scholarship there, yet he only mentions his time there in his book briefly. What kind of scholarship was it, and why does the college block his records from becoming public? Again quite fishy. Why has he refused to release his transcripts from Columbia? More fishy stuff.

Started well before the election. Perhaps you just heard of it. I guess YOU should acquaint yourself better with the facts.

The first rush to idiocy died out before the election. The current idiocy is rather recent, and it too is going nowhere-except in the minds of idiots.
