Finding a 50's or 60's truck

My Dad is on the lookout for an oldschool round-nosed pickup from the 50's or 60's. It doesn't need an engine on transmission, just a rolling chassis with little/no frame rust. Paint condition is irrelevant.

Does anybody know a good place online that would have something like this? Everything on craigslist around here is junk that the owners want $2-$5k for because it's a 'classic' and 'just needs a new battery'

Craigslist. Buy a one-way ticket to SFO or Vegas and drive something rust-free back(slowly).

My brother has a totally original mint condition '59 long bed Chevy, so original it's still got the 6 volt electrics. Beautiful paint and chrome, interior/exterior looks like a new truck. He was looking for around 9k, PM me if you are interested. This isn't some Dallas basket case or some Kentucky junkyard refugee, this is the real deal.

Pickup of that era are generally good drivers. Not only is the styling better than cookie cutter jelly bean, but they were real trucks with a separate frame--no unibodies. No smog equipment, simple V8 or even straight 6 engines.

I don't think anybody does , at least nothing available in the US. We did have the VW Rabbit (which I have), the little Dodge Omni thingy, Subaru, El Camino, Ranchero and even don't forget the F-100 from about 1961 to 63. It's really not a good idea, especially on a truck....

On my F-100 with the 300 straight six, it's nice to be able to stand in the engine compartment with both feet on the ground.

I don't believe the F100 from '61 to '63 were truly unibidy, ( but I may be wrong.)
What they did do was eleminate the seperate bed and cab--Ford continued the sheetmetal from the firewall all the way to the tailgate w/o a break. While that looked very smooth, it did not allow for the bed to flex with a load. That resulted in cracks where the gap was on conventional cab-bed designs.
