Scumbag ends a bright student's life

http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/09/17/yale.student.le/index.html

Le, 24, a pharmacology student, was last seen alive September 8, the day she appeared in a surveillance video entering a four-story lab at 10 Amistad St., about 10 blocks from the main campus.

Her body was found on what was to have been her wedding day.

What a shame to be wasted like this, truly sad and a horrid act.:(

It's almost like the polar opposite of the other story: "Bright Student Ends Scumbag's Life..."

Too true...I haven't been following that story but several people in my office have so i've been hearing more and more about it every day.

Another nutjob. Anyone want to bet he gets the needle?

Kuan 09-17-2009 06:20 PM

That was a pretty quick trial. Wasn't her body just found?

This has been the subject of intense local news coverage here because the vic grew up and went to school in a town nearby to where I now live.

It is politically incorrect to mention that she was Vietnamese/American.

Terrible tragedy.

I keep thinking of that legal truism "Justice delayed is justice denied"

SwampYankee 09-17-2009 09:23 PM

What a tragedy. It's received lots of coverage here. They found he body the day she was supposed to be married. Ironically the accused was engaged as well. Innocent until proven guilty blah blah blah, but the circumstantial evidence, injuries to the accused's body consistent with a recent scuffle and initial DNA reports are pretty damning.

Little info on possible motive thusfar but there have been reports of heated discussions over the treatment of the lab mice and a recent rash of emails back and forth on the subject.

Why is that? I suppose people can tell by the way her name is spelled but I'd like to know anyway.

I absolutely love taking your money.

I bet that he DOES NOT get the needle.

You on?

That would be quite sad indeed, he truly deserves the needle if found guilty. This kind of murder is predatory in every sense and the guy needs to leave the society.

No doubt...........but, knowing the state of CT...........I'm betting against it.

[Harry Callahan has to explain why he shot a man]

Harry Callahan: Well, when an adult male is chasing a female with intent to commit rape, I shoot the bastard. That's my policy.

The Mayor: Intent? How did you establish that?

Harry Callahan: When a naked man is chasing a woman through an alley with a butcher's knife and a hard-on, I figure he isn't out collecting for the Red Cross!

[walks out of the room]

The Mayor: He's got a point.

Gurkha 09-18-2009 01:10 AM

Man if there was ever a need for Harry Callahan, it is now, plenty of work for him.

Same here. CT has only executed one person in the past 50 years and I don't think one murder would be enough no matter how tragic it is.
