I've been waiting, but......

No one here has brought up the recent disaster that is A.C.O.R.N.

If that had been a conservative organization, the Conservatives would have disowned it, and the libs would have said--"Typical; all conservative organizations are corrupt."

So, I've been waiting. But not one liberal/ progressive has had the honesty to say that they were/ are a corrupt liberal political organization.

First they lost the whole census gig, then the news about aiding a supposed prostitution "business--not in one isolated case, but in at least 2 separate ACORN offices. One could wonder about the President himself since his past is so interwoven with that of ACORN.

Can't you libs own up to misdeeds among your own, or must you defend them to the death?

I also have not heard anyone here or in the media defend them. Have you? Bobby Jindel did cut off funding to them in LA. even though they were not being funded by the state in LA.

What's the obsession with ACORN, does it in any form or shape influence your life?

They are intimately intertwined in Maryland government, so YES! they affect me, as a MD taxpayer.
They were the darling of the left just the last election cycle, and now you can't see what is the issue. How short is the affection of the leftists!

How about you tell me a figure of how much of your actual tax dollars went to them?

Just wait until the "libs" develop a similar sting against your own favorite right-wing organizations. What they're thinking isn't, "Look how corrupt ACORN is," but instead, "Why didn't we think of this first?"

As for ACORN, I couldn't give a ---- about them. And unless you can find evidence that this is an organizational problem and not some really bad employees who HAVE BEEN FIRED, I couldn't give a ---- what you think of ACORN either.

Boehner said his office has identified more than $31 million in direct funding to ACORN from the federal government since 1998. That number is likely substantially higher because ACORN also received money indirectly from federal block grants distributed by states and localities.

Oddly, the same thing happened when "conservatives" went oddly quiet when birther fraud got exposed (Hey, Lou Dobbs, where are you now?) . . . or the rumors of "death panels" were thrown out and about . . . there's plenty of duckin' for cover to go around.

(31 million in 10 years) So what would your share be each year paid to ACORN? Here are some figures. For tax year 2005, 134,372,678 individual tax returns were filed. Of those filed, 99,880,223 actually had a tax liability and actually paid taxes.

I don't really give a ----- about them either, but they ARE getting tax dollars.
My real question is why, why is the government funding them, or any other organization. That is not the role of government.

OK, first we had the vote fraud thing, at MULTIPLE offices.
Now we have this at MULTIPLE offices, I believe 5 were identified, others mentioned. Some did do the correct thing.

AND they were at the root of a series of lawsuits againsts banks for discrimation in home loans. The banks lost, even though their defense was basically they don't have the income to pay.

Really? The ACORN affair is so monumental that the failure of anyone on the left to step up and denounce ACORN in this forum proves that they/we are not honest? Is that really your argument?

The link had this comment so when you figure out how much you actually sent to ACORN in your tax dollars you and "Barb" can send a letter to Washington demanding that amount back. Meanwhile I will not waste a 44 cent stamp and be money ahead. " Barb, WI writes:
How can a government-funded entity, such as ACORN, be allowed to purchase a partisan ad? At the very least, ACORN should lose its tax-exempt status. In actuality, the organization should receive NO government funding after the unscrupulous behavior of its members during the presidential campaign. By the way, ACORN, I want my share of the $50,000 in taxpayer money that you paid for the Obama ad back!
