Still has "Torre-Fan Syndrome." The divisionals aren't set, the LCS still has to be played. World Series talk is still premature.

Before I moved to the US I couldn't for the life of me see what was the appeal of the game of baseball... now I can see it It is social event A good friend of mine is a sponsor (her company) of the local team Salt Lake BEES. Since I started going to the games for free I can see what is all about.
However...come on guys...how many teams are in this WORLD series?
The world is a huge place....I never see any Scottish, German, Spanish etc teams playing in this World series...

No, it is a fair observation that the MLB World Series is North American-centric (US & Canada). It's more a traditional name, than any claim to planetary domination. Somewhat like Wimbeldon being called "the Championship."

However, the US did defeat Cuba this past weekend, 10-5, to win the Baseball World Cup. Also, in the youth leagues, the Little League World Series does match the US champion against the winners of the international bracket.

I always wondered the same thing when they crown Ms. Universe. I don't believe they invited anyone from other galaxies or even parts of our own galaxy.

I'm still saying the Twins will win the World Series. They're only 2 games out and currently playing a 4 game series with the Tigers. They sweep them they are up by 2 games with 3 games to go. I can't help it I'm such a homer...
