Unhappy Broke my foot...

Fell off a ladder onto a concrete floor, I was dumb and didn't check the ladder before going up it. Total idiot move, now I'll have a few weeks to think about it hoping around on one leg.

On the plus side I'm going to the bars tommarow night to try to get some pitty attention from the girls. I'll have to come up with one hell of a story....maybe I was mountain climbing and fell, yeah that sounds plausable.

+1

Don't forget that the puppy belong to a little girl next door and she was crying, so you just have to jump in front of this fast moving car and sacrifice yourself just to bring the smile back to the little girl face.

I have broken my right foor three times and my left one twice! I have tight tendons and the pressure of walking will snap a bone if I am not careful. I know what you are going through. Did they stick you in the 'spacesuit boot'?
Whatever you do, stay off it as much as possible. Those bones will not heal right if you are on your feet too much.

As for a story, take the one a guy at work is saying about HIS broken foot... He was riding his sport bi9ke in a motocross when he blew the engine and flipped the bike on top of him...He got double points for being hurt and for being cool doing it. The girls in the office were all over him. Kind of makes me want to use his story next time I break a foot...

Dude....that sucks. F'ing ladders, I've jumped off those damn things more than I can count (which, contrary to some peoples opinion, is actually more that the sum of my digits) Here's to quick healing and some heartfelt sympathy from the fairer sex Hope somebody saw you fall anyway, I hate hurting myself doing something dumb when no one is watching, at least you can have the consolation of knowing you put on a good show....

You end up needing anything, you aren't too far away, just say the word.

My sympathies. But it's not all bad, I know of a guy who died falling off a 6' step ladder.

Sorry to hear it. Be VERY careful on ladders. A guy I went to HS with fell off the last step of a ladder and landed on a paint can. He's now a paraplegic...

Foot injuries, particularly fractures, can be pretty serious, so follow your ortho's advice.

Thanks guys, it hurts like a b****. I'm going to the ortho tomarrow at 10 to see what he recomends. I'm expecting a hard cast or moon boot.

I hate ladders and generaly avoid them. Usualy I make other people do things that are high.

But part of my job requires going up on them, usualy before the stairs are set in a new house. Two story houses are not to bad, its the three story jobs that get me. We did one last fall that from the top floor to the basement was about a 30ft drop. Before the stairs are set you have a big hole from the top to the bottom, with ladders going from one floor to the next for stairs. The framers are nuts they just string ladders everywhere and walk around like its nothing.

Just be glad you have health coverage, or in addition to your broken foot you'd have a bank account that was empty and heading into the negatives fast!

I hate ladders too....I once fell off an 11 foot roof onto my back....boy was that an experience. I was uninjured, I landed into soft ground/mud and left an imprint in the shape of my body like in a cartoon.... When your body is made of titanium it's hard to break it. I did get the wind knocked out of me, and was dazed for a bit.....

Your spine has a curve? I hope so

I did that too actually. Fell out of a treehouse when I was 5 or 6. Thought the trap door was closed and stepped right through it backwards, and fell 15-20 feet onto my back. I can remember not being able to breathe and gasping for air. lol.
