With all the crap going down at that time, it took a lot of courage to do what they did. I am glad they were able to take out a few of the bastards.

A few years ago I read a book about this (can't remember the title). It was a non-fiction account of the Warsaw ghetto uprising in great detail. It was a very moving story. Anyone who doesn't believe in the right to own guns should read it. When I remember the title I'll post it.

Your right the whole episode is very moving.

A bunch of mostly starved sick people decided enough was enough and if they were going to die they were going to take some of the SOB's that were killing them with them. Very brave souls.

Also these starving people fairly poorly armed held off what at the time was still one of the best armies in the world for three weeks. Gun control people take that!

Was it "Rising '44" - the battle for Warsaw? (by Norman Davies)?

I am reading it right now, excellent book. I am keen on WWII history, especially the Eastern Front. It has, due to the cold war with Russian, been surprisingly under reported.
