Safe travels!

I've never been but it's on my list. My uncle travels to Australia every year for 6-8 weeks on vacation and loves it. He'd live there if he could.

Just curious, are you American citizens now ? Are you going for citizenship there ? I have always wanted to see Australia as I have only heard good things about it.

I'd love to visit Australia, but I could never live in a place where there are snakes and spiders the size of my dog. I'd die.

You can still be quite active on the forum. Obtain a neat right hand drive MB!

As I understand it (I might be wrong), non-citizens must either have round-trip tickets or meet a certain net-worth threshold or have a job already lined up to move there. That's essentially what kept my uncle from moving. New Zealand's thresholds weren't as high so he was seriously considering that (until health issues put that on hold).

Thanks so much to you all.
To answer a few questions...
No I'm a Canadian citizen who married an Australian lady some 33 years ago.We traveled back and forth to Oz a few times a year.We bought the house my wife grew up in when she was a young child and over the years modernized it to what they call there a Queenslander home. The type of home with a porch that runs all around the house. We own about 500 acres of land and take care of about 200 horses that belong to different pony clubs,so they pay us for boarding and shelter.
We also purchased a home on the coast in a town called Southport Queensland just south of Brisbane,so when the ocean calls we drive up to the coast and hit the beaches.

Well, I WAS sorry to hear of your leaving but after your description of your new place I'm sorry that I'M not going!

Keep in touch!

Yeah- good excuse to buy a W116 when you get down under. The w116.org forum is run out of Oz and it's about as good and friendly as this one. Good luck.

Rick

We have an Aussie member right, Tony? I don't think he's posted in a while.
There are lots of Fuso FG (Canters) expedition campers over there. I'd like to see some of them.
