help - can't complete online registration/validation using web mail client - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

I'm trying to complete an online registration process that requires me to click a link in an email message. When I click the link, it launches Outlook Express, which I don't use and which isn't associated with any email account. I cut and paste each field from the Outlook Express draft into both Yahoo and Google web client messages and both bounced back as unsolicited mail.

Here is the text in the request to verify registration -

To register click on the below given 'Accept' link, this will open compose mail option. Click on 'Send' without making any changes to the Subject or Message Body. If changes are made to the Subject or Message Body, your message will error and your account will be disabled

Here is the failure automatic response -

The message you sent did not appear to be in response to a notification. If you are responding to a notification, please use the response template that was included with your notification. Take care to include the 'NID' line of the template in your reply. If you are not responding to a notification, please do not send mail to this account.

Important: Some mail clients, notably early releases of Microsoft Outlook Express, may not copy the 'NID' line properly in your response. Please verify that the 'NID' line is included in full and contains the prefix 'NID' and all the details between the square brackets when responding.

I'd rather not setup Outlook Express and I only use web mail clients. What more than cutting and pasting into a web mail client message can I do to complete registration? How do I setup Yahoo Mail of Gmail as the default on an XP Pro system?

I installed Yahoo Messenger but that didn't add a Yahoo Mail line in the default mail client list. I installed Yahoo Toolbar and that added a Yahoo Mail line but even with it set I get a new browser tab with an error message when I click the registration link. Why is validation something a machine can do but I can't? Isn't the point of validation to keep bots from registering???

Download the gmail notifier and make sure that gmail is set to be your default email client when you run setup.
