New Toy

As a replica of my wife's 89 190E in blue, I built this Lego model from scratch. Took a while, almost complete

I have another model in the works, but haven't finalized it yet.

Not bad at all!

Unfortunately after going through 4 kids my sets are not only a mish-mash but missing a lot of cool pieces. I figure once my youngest is old enough to stay out of my stuff, I'll restock and buy some more cool sets.

I'd agree 100% if I weren't a sucker for the PlayMobil sets.

Awesome.

I can't wait until my kids are old enough to play with the small size of Legos. We play with Mega Bloks for now.

OMG- that's really neat. What would you charge to do an 87' 560SL?

Thanks gentlemen.

Looking back, it took a few days of on- and off-time building the model. Total time would probably be around 7-8 hours if I did it continuously, maybe 10 hours for the extra time finalizing and modifying small details. I had to stop midway because I ran out of blue pieces, so I ordered more from Lego.com (you can order pieces only, not sets). $80 and a few days later I'm back in business, but did not use all of it up. However, I used up most of the valuable special pieces, connectors, half stud offset plates, etc that round up the models and make them more realistic.

So while I still had the creative juices flowing I decided to revamp some of my older models too. More on that later...

I'm pretty happy with how everything came out. To be honest I don't know what price to put on any of these, since it's been asked before for me to build models for others. I actually have plans on doing an R107 next...after finalizing the...well, you'll find out

Some of my all time favorites, which I still have:

The two that got away (S123 and C123 AMG)

Can anybody guess what's next, before I make the R107?

What's the big deal in all that? All the guy did was follow the Yugo assembly procedures!

I would love to do some Technics models (with more components - suspension, steering, etc). It's a shame that you can't buy all those parts like you used to.

It's supposed to be a Honda Fit/Jazz...but it's close to the A-Class in size and design.

One day I would like to make a W123 with full suspension, steering and much more functionality than these. Kinda like this one (not mine), by the Arvo Brothers:
