Thousands rally to protest Health Care Bill

word on the street is more than a few experienced doctors will quit if this thing goes through. and, as the AMA said, what good is a health care bill if their aren't any health care providers? take the monetary incentive out of medicine and health care will begin to resemble the postal service........

All the doctors will quit, and there will be no healthcare in amerika

Exactly what has happened in Sweeden and Canada.

There are no doctors left there at all

So what are those "experienced doctors" going to do after they quit, waiting tables?

They are going to go to a place without universal health care. Like Somalia.

Now, we just need to pass a similar bill that affects lawyers; maybe they will quit or move away.

the one's I've spoken with have enough money saved to purchase a third world country. they don't need the headaches, time to retire and go fishing. and, there is quite a difference between a doc fresh outta med school and one with thirty years experience. good bye Doctor Experience, its been nice knowin' ya!

There's part of the problem right there.
And probably the reason that some physicians are against reform.

LOL, you think?

I someone proposed legislation that would reduce my income, I would probably predict all kinds of dire consequences too. Then I would figure out how to make the best of the new reality.

Maybe we will get some doctors that are actually interested in medicine rather than simply accumulating enough wealth to purchase a third world country. They don't need the headaches and we don't need them. There are plenty of smart people more than willing to take their place.

All hysteria aside; if you change the rules, the market will correct to provide the required services at a new equilibrium point. Most of us will pay about the same amount to go to the same doctors, the sky will not fall with or without this bill passing.

Many people, liberal and conservative, pay their own bills. Or at least pay for their own medical insurance. I did so many for years. But many cannot afford to pay for medical insurance. And I paid income tax on much of what I paid for insurance.
Do you pay for your medical insurance?
