The mountains are spectacular. Of course, there are spectacular mountains in other places, too.

And a GPS might not help much regarding whether you're over the border or not. It'll tell you where you are, but since the borders are frequently disputed you're sort of on your own.

I accidentally skiied into Austria once. But I just took the lift back to the top of the mountain. No international incidents that I'm aware of...

I know a guy who was traveling in Germany in the 70's and accidentaly got on the wrong train....he ended up in East Germany. Luckly the East German cop who checked his papers was cool and just stuck him on the right train without saying much.

This is like asphyxiation sex. Supposedly, it gets you a better orgasm than without the asphyxiation. I think our Shaolin Monk Kwai Chang Kane found out that there could be a downside to it. Nothing so spectacular that I will want to risk death over.

It can help you stay FAR away from the border, can it not? If I know that is a bad region, I can stay 100 miles off the border on my side.

Yeah, 27 year old kids!

Any bets as to how they where registered as voters and if/who they voted for in 08?

They where most likely advance people/community organisers for Organizing for America! http://www.barackobama.com/
Curious though. If they were Obama supporters, why do they want to see him grovel to the so and so in Iran for their release?

I knew it. Those 2 are still hanging around. I'll bet they want to shame the POTUS so they can run for office again in 2012.

They think that with Bush gone and the Dear Leader in place everything would be peace and love! They thought they would be praised, admired, and honored for helping to rid the world of dark forces Bush/Cheney. They stood with Iran against Bush, they where on the Iranian side!

You know, the typical fatal brain defect of the left based in the peace, love, unicorns for everyone fantasy! And the Dear Leader groveling, it’s an unintended consequence that is symptomatic of the described mental disorder which render’s them incapable of anticipating reality. And hell he loves it, he thinks he’s great at it, and does it most every chance he gets, especially overseas!

The Cheney administration hasn't been gone that long. I would advise everyone to continue pretending to be a canadian while outside the U.S. for a few more years.

Hiker Swap In the Works?

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday three U.S. citizens detained in Iran and charged with spying may be swapped with jailed Iranians in the United States.

"We do not like to have any person in jail. Some discussions are going on to swap the three with jailed Iranians in America," Ahmadinejad told state television. He did not clarify whether the discussions were held with U.S. officials.

Horses who like you frequently express it by rubbing you with their head. Assuming unicorns act like horses, there would be a rash of gorings

For a prisoner swap to be fair, we'd have to find three Iranians in custody for a similarly boneheaded offense. I don't know if we have them. Also, with the judgement and lack of common sense displayed by these three Americans, are we sure we want them back?

They were dumb. They were naive. They have a lot of company.

I saw a collection of photos from Iran on the web for a while. I tried to go back to it a few days later to perhaps copy some, if possible, and it had been pulled.

Some gorgeous territory in Iran. It's a fairly big country. Bigger than Alaska or, bigger than Texas, California, Montana, and Georgia combined. I read one article that claimed Iran ranked 7th on some scale for historical artifacts and sites worth seeing. But only about 35th in tourist density - or maybe 70th, I forget.

Yeah, I'm a dreamer. A naive Berkeleyian.
