Looks like a fun project! The 4BT should motivate that quite well. :)

That's one bad@ss bumper on your dad's truck!

Heck yeah, that's one of my dads custom jobs there. that whole truck has pretty much been rebuilt by my dad. the bumper has built in jumper cables, wench and tool box for show chains and other road side emergency equipment. the utility bed has enough tools in it to over come just about any problem. I love that truck

My friend has a 98 ram and is always barging about how its the most capable truck because it has over 1000 ft lbs of torque. I told him i needed the truck moved but that i was waiting for my dad. he said his truck could do it. I had to politely explain that this was a job that required a wench, and an unknown amount of tools to get it out of the mud. He then agreed that i should wait for my dad. LOL

catmandoo62, thanks for the warning about the cab mounts I'll be looking in to those.

We had a little trouble getting the truck up the driveway because the she doesn't really like to roll after all the years sitting in the mud. but thanks to Justin (iwrock) we got her moving.

Is that a late 80's Volvo 240DL I see in that pic?

That's my roommates car. he got it for free from a coworker because the mechanic said it was unsafe to drive... but all it needed was all new calipers, pads, rotors, shocks and bushings in the front end. so he sold his POS Chrysler LeBaron for $800 and used the money on parts for the Volvo. its up and running great, passed smog! hes totally stoked about it.

Nice. :D Always awesome when something works out like that. Shows what can happen to a person that has no idea about cars....they just take their mechanics word for it and then go plunge themselves into debt with another car.

So, when are we going to do the swap?

First thing is to get all the trash out of the truck and get an idea of what needs to be repaired. I'll be cutting the camper off the truck this weekend, and cleaning out the cab. next step after that is to get the engine and transmission out of the turck. once we have it down to just the truck, we need to inspect it throughly and find out if we need to take the bed and cab off. check those cab mounts as mentioned earlier in this thread.

I'd like to get all that done before i get the engine. because i know once i get the engine i'll be spending time working on the engine.

Do yourself a favor and pull the front clip to remove the motor. Just take the cab to fender bolts and the 2 radiator support bolts and lift off!! I have owned over 50 61-66 ford trucks in my time so if you need any help feel free to PM me. I also have a pile of parts I'm getting ready to dispose of so if you need anything let me know. I'm not too far from you down in Monterey County. I still have a 66 f250 4x4 that I'm dreaming of putting a 6.9 diesel in. Good luck!!

SWEET!!! Thanks for the reply. I may be PMing you soon lol. I'll be getting into the truck more this weekend so I'm sure the questions will start soon after that. Thanks!
