Yes, you can't really tell from the photo but the passenger seat was unusable as well.

I wonder if it is legal to drive such a heavily damaged car. I cannot imagine the required safety devices are operational in it.

Everything is legal unless you get caught!

Duct tape does in fact fix all.

My duct tape CV joint seems to agree.

Sadly....I have seen Worse! Thats pretty crappy though. On the other hand, not terribly out of charactor for that part of town.... I try to avoid north Broadway, although worth driving to The Artichoke, mighty good sammich's , and its not real northerly.

Skippy~ As for perception: Drive what you like and can afford. Those who don't like it can supply vacuum to one of your components. LOL

If you need parts, I have some!

Should buff right out.

The In - surance companies calls those, "driveable total losses".

Looks like it was a GM Chevy Cavalier or Cobalt to me, a POS from the day it was brand new.

Too bad cash 4 clunkers is over, he could have got 4500 smackers for it on a trade in, on a 2009 dodge caliber <-----a BRAND NEW clunker.

Not even close, the Cavaliers are rated like 23mpg or so, so ZERO of them qualified for the program. So every last one of them is still out there fouling our roads.

Speaking of interesting car sights, I saw a weird looking older woman driving a mint condition white W108 280 yesterday on the freeway. The car was VERY nice! I got a pic of it with my phone:
